Jane Gray - Artist & Activist
I have always been a maker. My practice as an artist and weaver is in direct response to nature and my environment. Being at one with nature aligns with my identity and sense of place here on the planet.
As the founder of the Nettle Revolution I am an activist, championing the use of sustainable materials and the circular economy and especially the potential that this humble plant has in improving our health and the wellbeing of the planet.
I design and create my own products and artwork for sale and run workshops to teach and encourage others to do similarly.
Theo Paphitis Award for Nettle Revolution
In February 2024, Theo Paphitis honoured Nettle Revolution for their dedication to sustainability in Cornwall. Through their advocacy for nettles, they not only dispel misconceptions but also raise awareness about environmental conservation and health advantages.

Jane Gray Artist's Manifesto
As an artist there are a number of principles by which I live my life. I encourage you to consider all or some of the following and embrace them yourself.
To allow the force of nature to shape me into a force for nature.
To work and create a legacy, in harmony with the environment.
To seek found materials from nature as well as responsible sourced materials and fibres to be as low impact as possible.
To deliver innovative and inspired ideas as an artist to demonstrate a sustainable way forward.
To encourage collaboration with everyone in caring for the planet.
To lead by example a natural existence to benefit the planet
and all future generations.
To embrace a youthful attitude that reflects my energy and optimism.
To be in gratitude each morning.
To set three daily intentions for personal accountability,
focus and growth.
To always be contagious and spread the great news about the benefits of nettles: for the environment, for the soft fibres, for holistic personal health.
To grow my ideas to a wider audience through my website, school
visits, talks, exhibitions and online social media.
To document my activity responsibly to be seen for the greater good and as a record to show I cared about my grandchildren’s future and wanted to make a difference!
An invitation request for your valued support
Hi, it is so good to see you here.
As you can see as a founder of Nettle Revolution, I am keen to grow awareness and the momentum for a nature filled lifestyle. One that respects the use of all earth’s resources in a circular way, to enable
us to become a zero-waste planet.
I give gratitude daily for the beautiful environment that we can still enjoy as I remain active and resolute in helping others to benefit from growing a ‘circular economy’. All activity that advances a greener
lifestyle for all to be a part of nature and not apart from nature will benefit the healing of our planet.
I, Jane Gray, have pledged to donate the rest of my life to be kind, caring and considerate for the future and welfare of not only my grandchildren but also to have as low impact on our soil as possible. And through my innovative artwork I hope to progress awareness to help others do the same.
By doing what I do, I choose to demonstrate the infinite ways we can adapt and make the changes necessary to restore and build a better world for mankind.
If you like me feel my work is important, I ask for your support in any way you wish to provide, be that by a monetary Donation or other means to encourages my wellbeing and active service as an artist.
