Kriben Vel is a Cornish word meaning honeycomb, to honour our bees and their deliciously sweet food.
This hand-woven scarf is woven on my floor loom in my studio at Upton Towans where we are snuggly tucked away in the dunes by the sea.
The scarf colours are earthy in appearance resembling the colours of our bees so precariously in decline. Let's think of our bees and make our environment more homely for them to inhabit and thrive again.
Woven in organic nettle and 16/2 linen. The fibres soften with wear, just like wearing in a new pair of boots, then they become your favourite pair.
A lovely addition to your wardrobe with a rustic Cornish buzz, knowing your scarf is a gentle hug from nature and that you care about your environment.
The pattern has a stretchy crinkled effect woven into the cloth which adds texture and interest by design.
Bees are encouraged into my garden to forage for their nectar. Let's all protect our bees and our planet. 🐝 🐝 🐝
