Life moves quickly. Some days, it feels like we are running just to keep up, ticking lists, answering messages, and juggling everything at once. But your body and mind weren’t designed to run at full speed all the time.
You deserve moments that are yours alone, to breathe, to notice, to be.
This is what mindfulness offers: a way to come home to yourself, wherever you are.
Nettle Revolution recommends you start simply:
Step 1: Breathe Slowly
Right now, wherever you’re reading this, take a moment.
Inhale gently through your nose, letting your lungs expand.
Exhale through your mouth, slower than your inhale.
Repeat this three times, noticing the way your shoulders soften and your mind quietens.
Step 2: Let Nature Hold You
If you can, step outside, even for two minutes.
Notice the air on your skin. Is it cool, warm, or damp?
Listen for the smallest sound, a bird call, the rustle of leaves, or distant movement.
Look for one thing in nature that catches your eye: a pattern, a colour, a shape.
Step 3: Ground Yourself
Place your feet firmly on the earth, in shoes, preferably barefoot if you can.
Imagine roots growing from the soles of your feet deep into the ground, holding you steady. Feel that quiet strength beneath you.
Step 4: Engage Your Senses
Hold something from nature in your hand, a stone, leaf, or flower.
Notice its texture, weight, and temperature. Let your senses fully explore it.
This isn’t about “thinking” about nature, it’s about feeling it.
Step 5: Carry the Calm
Mindfulness isn’t just for quiet moments in the countryside; it’s a skill you can carry into the busiest day.
When things feel overwhelming, pause, breathe, and remember what it felt like to stand still in nature. That memory can steady you in any storm.
An Invitation to You
It is not about changing your whole life to find peace. It begins with small, simple acts: one slow breath, one grounded step, one moment of noticing. These moments are seeds, the more you plant, the calmer and clarity will grow in your life.
Please enjoy these steps and encourage me, by letting me know how it made you feel. Calmer? Grounded? At Peace? At one with nature’s roots?
From my heart to yours,
