Backed by Science and Rooted in Ancient Wisdom
Today I came across something that lit me up. We are nature, and nature is our pharmacy.
It was scientific proof that backs up everything I’ve come to believe through my own body, nature, and years of working with nettles.
Dr Joe Dispenza, a respected voice in neuroscience and healing, shared results from a study that showed a 50 percent increase in Immunoglobulin A (IgA) levels after just four days of focused emotional practice. Participants sat for 15 minutes, three times a day, breathing deeply, concentrating on elevating their emotions of gratitude, joy, care, and love.
No supplements. No machines. Just the body responding to feeling.
IgA is one of the body’s most powerful immune molecules. It protects the mucous membranes in our respiratory and digestive systems. The fact that it can be increased so significantly by emotion alone is incredible. It’s measurable proof that we hold a powerful internal pharmacy. Yes. We are the medicine.
And this ties in so deeply with what I live and share through Nettle Revolution. When I touch nettles, make a tea infusion, weave with nettle fibre, or walk barefoot in nature, I feel present, calm, and awake in my body. These small acts are somatic practices.
The word somatic comes from the Greek sōma, meaning body. To live somatically means to listen to the body’s signals and respond with awareness. It’s a way of being where healing happens not just through thought, but through felt experience. Somatic practices help us shift from stress into presence, from numbness into aliveness.
They bring me into direct contact with nature and the healing space of my senses. It’s not just what we do, it’s how we feel while doing it that matters.
To live somatically is to live with grace.
Grace is the softness that arrives when we stop pushing and start listening.
Grace is kindness, patience, and the quiet blessing that shows up when we reconnect to what’s already within us.
The sting of the nettle carries healing.
The same can be said for life.
Inside the challenges, there is always potential for strength, repair, and transformation.
Would you like to try this for yourself?
Take 15 minutes today. Three times if you can.
Sit quietly. Breathe slowly.
Bring to mind someone or something you are truly grateful for.
Let that feeling bloom in your body like warm sunlight or gentle nettle tea.
No effort. Just attention and care. Just grace.
These are not new ideas.
Ancient traditions have always known that emotions, plants, breath, and presence are sacred tools.
We are simply remembering.
This is the heart of Nettle Revolution.
A return to our senses.
A reconnection with body and breath.
A path to healing through presence, feeling, and grace.
With love and green strength,
Jane – The Nettle Lady
